Problem

when shipping with FedEx or ups when customs value is more than $2500, we get this error message "The FTR Exemption or AES Citation you provided is not valid for EEI(error code:2208)"
Automated Export System (AES)

FTR stands for Foreign Trade Regulations.
EEI stands for Electronic Export Information

Solution

This issue arises when a shipment requires AES (Automated Export System) filing. The shipment's value may exceed $2,500, or the destination may require filing.

To resolve this, please ensure that the AES filing is completed on the AES website (EEI). After the filing, you will receive an ITN (Internal Transaction Number). ShipConsole supports capturing the ITN within the International Link, and it will then transmit this number to the carrier. This enables the carrier to accept the shipment and create the shipping label.

ITN stands for Internal Transaction Number.
It is a confirmation number issued by the Automated Export System (AES) after a successful EEI (Electronic Export Information) filing.
